CLUTCH REPAIR IN STATEN ISLAND, NY

A manual transmission depends on a healthy clutch assembly: the disc, pressure plate, release bearing, pilot bearing, flywheel, and the hydraulic or cable linkage that ties it all to your pedal. When any one of those parts wears out, the symptoms show up fast — a pedal that feels soft or grabs too high, engine RPM that climbs without the vehicle accelerating, grinding when you select a gear, or a shudder as you pull away from a stop.

At our Staten Island, NY shop we diagnose the entire assembly rather than guessing. Sometimes the fix is a simple linkage adjustment or a hydraulic repair; other times the clutch kit has reached the end of its life and needs replacement. Either way, you get a straight answer and a firm price before we begin.

Our certified mechanics service clutches in 4-wheel drive vehicles, pickup and work trucks, passenger cars, RVs, foreign imports, and overdrive systems. We accept wholesale and fleet accounts, so businesses running multiple vehicles around Staten Island can keep their downtime to a minimum.

We recommend having your clutch's operating linkage checked periodically. A clutch that is adjusted correctly wears evenly and lasts far longer, and a small adjustment today is dramatically cheaper than an untimely transmission failure on the Expressway tomorrow.

World Transmissions has been family owned and operated since 2003. Our shop is licensed by the State of New York, our technicians hold ATRA and ASE certifications, and together they bring over 60 years of hands-on experience to your vehicle.

We keep the shop clean, the pricing affordable, and the turnaround fast, and we back our work with a warranty you can count on — rebuilt transmissions carry a 3-year, 36,000-mile warranty on most vehicles. Free computer diagnostics, free pressure and condition testing, free road tests, military and veteran discounts, and free local towing on rebuild work are all part of the service.
